After the slow moving summer months it looks like the entire mobile computing market segment is back in business and two of the most important laptop and notebook contract manufacturing companies, Quanta Computer and Wistron, just announced that they enjoyed a very good September, financially speaking.

Both of these companies saw record revenues during the previous month and notebook shipments from Quanta Computer registered a new monthly record as the company stated that it shipped over 3.1 million units. Only from its operations in Taiwan and China, Quanta Computer managed to gain $2.44 billion, representing an increase of almost 80 percent over the results of the past year. At the same time, Wistron's revenues increased by 42.05 percent over the very same period of the previous year.

According to the news site digitimes, Quanta's total number of notebooks shipped until now reaches 22.42 million units and the company expects to reach its goal of 28 million units by the year's end. During the third quarter of the year, the contract manufacturing company produced and shipped more than 8.8 million mobile computer systems and in the following months this trend is expected to hold and even increase.

These strong posted figures come as Apple signed a new contract with the manufacturing company and as Acer increased its orders for its 12.1 inch business notebook models. While Quanta Computer also registered fewer orders from the American company Dell, its overall business model is very strong and even increasing as the demand from Europe is going upward.

Winstron's business model looks good too as its mobile computing system generated around 80.49 percent of its revenues gained during the last month, while the desktop computer systems were responsible for only 2.8 percent of its entire revenue system. Other products like general consumer electronics and gaming consoles were responsible for an additional 16.68 percent of all the company's revenues.
