Skydiver, pilot and BASE jumper Felix Baumgartner had to cancel plans to make the highest ever jump, from 36.5 km at the edge of space, due to unfavorable weather and several other problems. The launch was initially scheduled for Monday and had already been pushed back due to wind.

There's no definite scheduled for a new launch, but it won't happen before Thursday, even then if the weather permits.

The team was ready early in the morning, before the sun rose, to launch. Normally, that's when you get the perfect conditions for a launch like this.

But winds pushed back the launch time. Finally, when the winds died down, the team didn't start inflating the balloon straight away as they were experiencing a radio failure at one of the two redundant radio systems in the capsule as well as other technical issues with the capsule.

By the time those were fixed and the balloon was being inflated, it takes about 40 minutes to fill it up, winds picked up again and started flinging the partially inflated balloon all over the place.

The team had to abort the launch. The balloon itself is now unusable, once taken out of its wrappings you can't put it back. There is a backup balloon though.
