txtGroups and Lottery Post announced a collaboration to provide instant lottery results to North American SMS subscribers. The new service, called "Lottery Results Mobile Alerts," covers every lottery game played in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and United Kingdom, with more worldwide lottery games to be added soon.

Anyone with a cell phone can sign up for lottery results by sending a simple keyword on their phone. For example, to register for Powerball results, users send the keyword "Powerball" to 89847. The Lottery Post web site contains a list of keywords corresponding to all of the available lottery games. Minutes after the lottery publishes the lottery results, subscribers receive a text message containing the results. The cost of the service is 25 cents per message, which is added directly to the customer's phone bill. If the user wants to stop receiving Mobile Alerts, they can easily unsubscribe via an SMS message.

"Lottery players love the simple and quick signup," said Todd Northrop, CEO of Lottery Post. "Our subscribers fall in love with the service once they realize they no longer need to seek out lottery results in the newspaper, on TV, or online. It's like having an assistant personally delivering the results right after the drawing, and you don't need a computer!"

"Lottery Results Mobile Alerts" is powered by the txtGroup, a mobile messaging service that allows quick, instant group communication across all major US and Canadian wireless carriers. txtGroup manages the delivery of thousands of messages on a daily basis, to subscribers spread across dozens of different wireless carriers.

"Most subscribers sign up for the lottery service around lottery draw dates but rarely cancel their subscription once they discover the service is so reliable, convenient, and useful. People also like the simplicity of having the service cost added directly to their phone bill, rather than using a credit card or bank account. Their personal information stays private," said Jennifer Tomblin, VP Sales and Communication for txtGroups.

More details about the "Lottery Results Mobile Alerts" and instructions on how to subscribe to the service can be found here.
