Cats and dogs are everyone's favorite pets, but there is a long-standing rivalry between the two species, so here are some areas where cats display genetic superiority.

Cats have better hearing than dogs. Though both species perceive ultrasounds, cats capture sounds one octave higher than dogs are able to. According to the LocustValleyVet, they have 33 muscles controlling year movement, whereas dogs only have 18. They can also move each ear independently.

Felines have better vision, in daytime as well as in nighttime, due to the ability to constrict their pupils extremely quickly. This gives them the advantage, especially in environments in which lighting settings change rapidly. Both species suffer from red-green color blindness.

In their ability to perceive detail and movement, as well as depth, and their adaptability to night vision, both cats and dogs display better eyesight than humans do.
