No paid downloadable content, no micro-transactions

EJ Moreland, the lead designer of All Points Bulletin, has declared that the game will not require payment for downloadable content or any other micro-transaction system. Realtime Worlds will only charge players for in-game time in a flexible way, offering two options, a monthly subscription or the possibility to buy various packs of hours of playtime.

“We won’t be offering items for sale for real money. We have no DLC,” Moreland said for ShackNews. “Any update we do throughout the cycle is free except when we do a major retail event, which will add almost a completely new game. Throughout the year, we’re going to release both content updates, which are new missions, new clothing assets, new weapons, new vehicles. Basically, new things for the players to earn, customize, or experience.”

Even non-subscribers will have access to the new content during the hours of play they have paid for. Moreover, the developer will only charge for playtime in the game's action districts, as players who have bought the title will have unlimited time to explore the social district where they can meet other people and customize their vehicles and their characters.

All Points Bulletin is a massively multiplayer online third-person shooter set in the fictional San Paro, a city riddled with crime and injustice. As a desperate measure, the mayor passes a law to permit normal citizens to freely enlist in the police force and fight the criminals. APB's gameplay sets two sides, the Enforcers and the Criminals, against each other in an open environment. As players from one side are given a mission, the title's matchmaking system selects a number of players from the opposing faction, taking their skills into account, and tasks them with stopping the others from completing their objective. All Points Bulletin will launch on the 29th of June in the United States and on the 2nd of July in the UK, only on the PC.
