Realtek has unveiled new LAN drivers targeted at its PCIe Fast Ethernet, and PCIe and PCI Gigabit Ethernet family controllers, which might improve the overall performance of the compatible devices.

Specifically speaking, the producer has made available several drivers compatible with both 32- and 64-bit architectures of all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems, and moreover, the files also share the same build number, namely 1122.2013.

To be clearer, Realtek’s latest updates are as follows: version 5.820 compatible with Windows 2000 and XP, as well as Server 2003, driver 7.076 targeted at Microsoft’s Windows 7 and Server 2008 platforms, and the 8.020 package that can be installed only on Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems.

However, if you take a closer look within the downloadable drivers, you will see that the INF’s build numbers are 0815.2013 for the Windows 8 and 8.1 compatible package, and 1028.2013 for the other files.

And last but not least, while the 7.076 and 5.820 versions benefit from two available download records, namely one drivers-only package and one drivers-with installation program, the 8.020 variant can only be downloaded with the installation program (no drivers-only package available).

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your operating system, and afterwards, select the one that best suits your desired installation method (with or without the installation program).
