A few moments ago, Realtek rolled out new Ethernet driver packages targeted at all Windows OSes, namely versions 5.826, 106.4, 7.088, and 8.034, which are compatible with the producer’s PCI and PCIe Gigabit and Fast Ethernet family controllers.

In order to be clear, while version 5.826 build 0605.2014 is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows XP and Server 2003 operating systems, driver 106.4 build 0317.2014 is targeted at Windows Vista and Server 2008 platforms.

Moreover, the producer’s 7.088 version is developed for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 OSes, and the 8.034 package for Windows 8, 8.1 and Server 2012 platforms. Also, know that these last two variants share the same 0617.2014 build.

As for the compatible components, the XP-related driver is to be applied for Realtek’s RTL8168, RTL8168C, RTL8168D, RTL8168DP, RTL8168E, RTL8112, RTL8112L Gigabit, as well as for the RTL8136, RTL8102, RTL8104, RTL8105, RTL8401, and RTL8131 Fast Ethernet PCIe controllers, as we can tell from within the packages.

In addition to that, the RTL8169 PCI Gigabit, RTL8168 PCIe Gigabit, as well as the RTL8136 PCIe Fast Ethernet families benefit from support for the others OSes mentioned above.

Last but not least, the RTL8118 Dragon Gigabit Ethernet controller should be present only on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 configurations (and related Server platforms), otherwise you won’t have any compatible driver for it.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your computer’s OS, ensure that the configuration is compatible with the driver, and apply the package on your system in order to be up to date.
