Realtek has outed a new network driver targeted at its PCI Fast Ethernet controllers, namely version 6.112, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

When it comes to the supported devices, this update can be applied on configurations that include one of the producer’s RTL8100(L), RTL8100B(L), RTL8100C(L), and RTL8101L network adapters,

In addition to that, RTL8130, RTL8139B(L), RTL8139C(L), RTL8139C(L)+, and RTL8139D(L) FE controllers are also compatible with this new version.

Another aspect that you should take into account is that Realtek’s release is covered by US5,307,459, US5,434,872, US5,732,094, US6,570,884, US6,115,776, and US6,327,625 patents.

As for upgrading your network card, simply make sure that your system is suitable for this version, save and extract the downloadable archive, and run the available setup for a complete and successful installation.

Also, upon completion, it would be best if you performed a reboot so that you ensure that all changes take effect properly. If the wizard doesn’t request it automatically, we recommend that you restart your computer manually.

That being said, download Realtek PCI LAN Driver 6.112, apply it and take into account all aspects described above, and check our website as often as possible in order to be aware when a newer version is available.
