Real or Fake: Plane Does 360 Degree Turn, 50m from the Ground, Before Landing

This “wicked” plane landing on the Otopeni airport, in Romania, has been dubbed by many a fake. The “Crazy landing with a Jumbo 747 in Bucharest” clip has just been posted yesterday, and is already sparking controversy.

Many YouTube users wonder if a large 747 jet can be maneuvered to do a 360 Degree Turn so close to the ground, as the distance between the plane and the ground is estimated at just 50m, at one point.

In all fairness, the clip is awesome, be it real or fake. Attractive dancers sing and perform complicated moves in the foreground, keeping viewers so entertained that they are genuinely surprised when the plane approaches.

However, me must wonder how the plane managed to get through those electric cables, with cable posts being 50m apart, and to cross the street, while creating so little noise and disturbances for motorists.

The dancers themselves seem unfazed by the jet approaching them at high speed, up to the point where it is situated directly above their heads. At the end of the clip, you can see the plane landing nearby.

Those are not electric poles, they are the landing lights that point to the runway. Planes usually land on Otopeni Airport as you see in the clip, gliding at 100meters at most over the DN1 national road before landing on the strip. As for the clip itself, tha big problem is that 747's don't usually land in Romania and especially not a Virgin Atllantic 747. Bad choice of plane there. They would have been better of with a 737 :))
