Real Madrid is ready for revolution. And when I say that, I mean the reconstruction of the greatest club in the history of football. After 2 years of total failure - in the Spanish Primera Liga and European competitions - in which they looked up on Barcelona, the Madrid officials are ready to put an end to that.
And this thing will go off starting the new presidential elections.
Much like the previous elections, the official that makes the biggest promises, wins the crown. That's because the winner will always keep his promise. And, as things are looking right now, it seems like Ramon Calderon
has taken Carlos Sainz's hopes for a future presidential seat.
The main reason why Calderon is on top of the Real Madrid fans' preferences is because he promised to give Santiago Bernabeu the chance to see either Fabio Capello, or Sven Goran Eriksson coaching Real. The first one seems to be the best solution for the club, since he has previously coached at Bernabeu. Then, after only a year at Real, Capello managed to win the Champions League title against Borussia Dortmund (1-0).
Although it seemed like just another rumor at the beginning, the news has received the very confirmation of Fabio Capello himself. The current Juventus coach admitted: "I did indeed meet with Calderon, who offered me a coaching position at Real Madrid. I only tried to be a good listener though, since I still consider myself the coach of Juventus Turin. So I tried not to give him a final answer". What seems more obvious is that, after the Italian justice will give their final decision to Juve officials, Capello will certainly not accept to coach the Turin side in Serie B.
With Ancelotti saying "NO" and Schuster renewing his contract with Spanish side Getafe, Real Madrid wants to make sure they will make the big hit. So, they have another possibility, in case things don't work out with Capello. Sven Goran Eriksson will end his contract with the English national team after the World Cup. So there couldn't have been a better target for Madrid's officials. Especially since the British newspapers revealed that Calderon and Eriksson have met many times in the past few weeks.
One thing is beyond any doubt though. In approximately 2 months, many things will change at Real Madrid, starting with the president, players and coaches. What is now rumored represents the preface of a great reconstruction.
