Jeff Dabe, a 50-year-old man living in the city of Stacy in Minnesota, is nicknamed the real-life Popeye and it's all because of his positively ginormous hands.

Now, before you read any further, perhaps you might spare a few moments to check out the gallery below. You know, to get the full impact of just how big this guy's hands are.

The 50-year-old is an arm wrestling champion

Given the size of his upper limbs, it should come as no surprise that Jeff Dabe is an arm wrestling champion. According to Oddity Central, it was back in the 1970s that the man became interested in this sport.

He was forced to give it up in 1986, when right arm popped out of place during a match, but went back to competing in 2012. Since he never got around to fixing his bad arm, the 50-year-old can now only use his left limb when competing.

Even so, winning is not an issue. In fact, the 50-year-old says he doesn't even have to train long hours before arm wrestling, as others do. Rather, he simply trusts that his abnormally giant muscles will get the job done.

In case anyone was wondering, Jeff Dabe's forearms each have a circumference of 49 centimeters (about 19 inches). As for his palms, well they are big enough to hold and crash a watermelon.

So, why are this man's hands this big anyway?

Although photos and videos of Jeff Dabe have been making the rounds online for quite a while now, nobody seems to know for sure how and why his upper limbs ended up growing to such impressive size.

There are some rumors that the man is suffering from localized gigantism. Others point the finger at a congenital disorder dubbed the Proteus syndrome , which is known to cause abnormal bone and skin development.

Then again, it could also be that the 50-year-old's limbs grew to be this big after he got into the habit of taking all sorts of muscle-building supplements.
