If you're lucky enough to be one of those people who rest their tired bones at night on a seriously oversized mattress stuffed with cold, hard cash, you might just become the new and very proud owner of a real-life Hogwarts.

Thus, media reports tell us that a Gothic castle is now up for sale in the town of Woodstock in Connecticut, US, and its owner cannot wait to be rid of it. Hence the fact that he is willing to sell it for a measly $45 million (€34.7 million).

Introducing Connecticut's Chrismark Castle

According to Oddity Central, this castle, a photo of which is available next to this article, belongs to a man named Christopher Mark, identified as the great-grandson of a Chicago steel tycoon known as Clayton Mark Senior.

It is understood that Christopher Mark bought the land accommodating for the castle sometime in 2003. $4.1 million (€3.16 million) and 7 years later, the architectural masterpiece was complete and ready to welcome Mark and his family.

This real-life Hogwarts, whose official name is Chrismark Castle, comprises 8 bedrooms, as many as 10 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces, a library, a pool, a maid's room, several massage rooms, and a lower-level garage. It sits close to the local Lake Porter, so it offers a pretty impressive view.

Since castles and banquets go hand in hand, and no banquet is complete without tons of delicious food, the castle also accommodates for a 1,200-square foot (about 111.4 square meters) circular kitchen where one can probably cook about a hundred different dishes at the same time.

If you're worried that your guests might not feel like dancing when attending your lavish banquets, rest assured: this castle comes complete with custom-fit and handmade hardwood floors that your friends and family will surely love to trample all over, most likely out of spite.

Why is Christopher Mark selling this outrageous castle?

By the looks of it, Christopher Mark no longer wants to live in this castle and hopes to soon find a new owner for it due to the fact his life in the real-life Hogwarts hasn't exactly been happy and fulfilling. In a nutshell, he divorced his wife shortly after moving in, and soon enough, broke up with the woman he started dating after his marriage had come to an end.

What's more, rumor has it that, despite trying to start many businesses over the years, Christopher Mark failed to become a businessman through and through. Simply put, all his initiatives failed. Whether or not the castle is to blame for this series of mishaps remains a mystery, but what is certain is that the man no longer wants to live in it.
