At about the same time with the release of NBA Smash, Gameloft also made available Real Football 2008: European Tournament, a mobile game that - as you already guessed - is an homage brought to football, or soccer, as the sport is known in the US.

Coming just in time for the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship (commonly abbreviated as Euro 2008), Real Football 2008: European Tournament is actually a special edition of Real Soccer 2008. The new game allows you to play with more than 200 teams (both clubs and nations), in four stadiums that are 3D-modeled for the best-possible view. In fact, the entire game is built on a 3D engine, with high-quality animations, hence the players will most probably have a nice graphic experience.

There are 6 leagues in which you can compete with the team of your choice. During the game, "spectacular cinematic scenes" and lots of cameras assure a "TV atmosphere", while a unique AI (artificial intelligence) makes both your opponents and your teammates adjust according to the way you are playing.

Debuting in four days, on the 7th of June, with the Switzerland - Czech Republic match, the real Euro 2008 is jointly-hosted by Switzerland and Austria. The competition ends on June 29, when the best two of the 16 participant teams will play for the grand trophy, on the Ernst Happel Statium in Vienna.

Well, if your favorite team didn't make it to the real competition, you can try to lead it to a virtual victory yourself, in the new Gameloft mobile game. Which, from its presentation and screenshots, seems to be quite nice.
