Yet another management change has happened in AMD's camp, though at least we aren't looking at another one of those private buyouts that Dell may have started a string of.

The newest member of the Board of Directors of Advanced Micro Devices is one Martin Edelman.

Holder of a Bachelor of Laws degree from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University, he currently serves as Of Counsel, Real Estate Department for the law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, from New York City.

That means he is responsible for real estate transactions as well as corporate mergers and acquisitions.

It might be that his business acumen is required in order to come up with better business deals.

Meanwhile, Craig A. Conway, a member of the company’s board of directors since 2009, has decided not to stand for re-election at the company’s 2013 annual meeting of stockholders. He is pursuing different interests.
