Web designers know the importance of a professional looking website both in case of a business image and a personal webpage. If you want to have a website different than others from many points of view, such as web design quality, accessibility and generally well balanced characteristics,
you should start by choosing a ready made professional template that could serve as guide for your new web site.

A ready made template contains all the steps you need to develop your website. In the same website, by using the ready made template you will have some elements that will repeat themselves from page to page, for example: company logo or a product picture, the navigation menu, company or personal contact details, the same page layout and more. In this way you will gain more time to develop the website content and the site navigation system will have a uniform character. The most important step is choosing the template.

You can choose any lightweight template, free or commercial and after that you will customize it to fit your needs. When you select a template, you should know the type and the quantity of your site content in order to look for specifical elements of design and functionality. You will find available on Internet HTML templates, Flash templates, CSS templates, FrontPage templates and many other types.

If you have a site of maximum 50-100 web pages, I recommend the use of a HTML or CSS template. You must assure that the template is editable. The customization of the template will be easy, even for those with less HTML knowledge, because the template comes usually with a help file or a detailed description, which explains the steps that should be performed to change its default state.

You can use any HTML editor to change the layout or navigation system. When you add a logo, custom menu buttons or a background image try to select or edit the image file in order to have a complementary aspect with the template main colors. You can add also scripts or a flash intro. But the main advantages of a ready made template is the fact that you will have fewer errors in your website and you will save a lot of time and money.
