An updated flavor of the Readit application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone devices out there, namely version 1.8.0.0.

The new app iteration comes with a nice range of changes inside, which should make Reddit fans enjoy an even better experience when accessing the website from their handsets.

Following the update to the new app release, users will see that multireddit support has been included in it now, with features such as editing, creating and browsing also available.

Moreover, the mobile client now sports gold account syncing, which means that it will know which links have been viewed on any device.

On top of that, the new Readit app comes with a complete set of moderation tools, including post moderation, comment moderation, banned users, approved submitters, moderation log, and the like.

These are available for all moderators using Readit in read-only mode, though support for making modifications is now included in the new Reddit API as of now.

The new app iteration also comes with updated profile pages, allowing users to see trophy case and their own karma breakdown by subreddit, as well as to access the saved section on their profiles. Moreover, Readit 1.8 enables people to edit their user flair, and allows mods to assign link flairs to posts.

The mobile application has also received a series of improvements to Swipe View, which is now faster than ever. Additionally, it has been redesigned to pre-load posts, so that users will wait less for new content to be loaded.

However, the updated feature is available only for devices with more than 512MB of RAM for now, though it is expected to land on low-memory handsets as well sooner rather than later.

Among the other improvements included in the updated app, we can also count better Inbox messaging, along with Oauth2 login, new content on the main page, a built-in custom color picker, and more.

One thing that should be mentioned here is the fact that the switch to the new Oauth2 API will also result in users losing all of their currently saved accounts, as a new login will be required.

“This is an inconvenient but a necessary step as Reddit has now discontinued the development of the old API and are now focusing exclusively in the new API development,” a post on Reddit explains.

Various other minor improvements have also been included in the new application iteration, it seems. To take advantage of them, head over to the Windows Phone Store to download the new Readit 1.8.0.0 app on your Windows Phone 7.5 or up handsets.
