14 DAY TRIAL // A dutiful reader has returned a book borrowed from the library 41 years ago. Staff at the Champaign County Library in Ohio were so impressed that they posted a photo of the book on their Facebook account.
He or she had borrowed "The Real Book About Snakes," and it was due on July 1, 1972. A note was attached and you can tell that whoever borrowed it just found it and remembered never taking it back.
They have expressed apologies and even took the time to add up how much the fines amount to. The $299.30 (€227,95) for 41 years were included in the package.
“Sorry I've kept this book for so long, but I'm a really slow reader! I've enclosed my fine,” the note attached to the book reads.
