"S**t, goddammit, this friggin' piece of crap ain't workin' as it's supposed to and I don't have a freakin' clue what to do about it! Aaaaarrgh!" It's OK, you can let go now; tell me: how many times has this happened to you while you were editing audio? For how many minutes have you stared like an idiot at the screens and almost wept because nothing worked as you wanted and only crap came out of the studio monitors?

And just how many times have you found yourselves annoying one of your friends or acquaintances who were "deeper in the mix" with dumb questions just to hear their angry answer: "Read the f***ing manual, you moron, the help, the readme! Why do you think it says help there, because you're supposed to use it for getting help, you dumb piece of useless brain!" I can't tell it for you, but in my case, this has happened a few times and I have finally learned the "power" of the tutorials and help files.

Well, Cakewalk has been one of the leading DAW producers for many years now with the world-renowned Sonar series. It's time things changed a bit for the 6th edition of the Sonar and Cakewalk has proved that they understand what YouTube means on the face of the Earth.

Believe it or not, Cakewalk have posted the tutorials of their new Sonar on YouTube and you can gain access to them in an instant! An astonishing marketing move in the direction of making the new DAW more popular among old and especially new or future clients.

Bringing all this on YouTube makes a whole new-style customer support, and making the company feel "closer" to its clients than ever before. Besides the paper manuals, which by the way are completely indispensable, the complete newbies in the world of Sonar are more likely to learn how to make their first steps in this popular DAW by means of visual explanation than using the "books".

Anyway, I am still surprised by what Cakewalk has achieved and I wonder how come I did not see this coming. Another "first" for Cakewalk, this time completely for the direct benefit of the end-user. And for the company as well.
