Music streaming is becoming a very profitable business nowadays, considering that in the US and Canada there are numerous services competing for the same audience. One of these companies, namely Rdio, has decided to enter new markets, such as Brazil. Americans cannot probably imagine life without enjoying their music on all their portable devices, since they have had access to music streaming for several years now.

However, Brazilians have been deprived of this type of service until now - come November 1st, the well-known Rdio will become available in their country as well.

Even if Rdio may have chosen to enter a new market only because the American one was becoming a bit too crowded (now that Spotify has also joined the party), the move might prove to be a very inspired one.

The only access Brazil had to music streaming so far has been Grooveshark, so users will now have multiple options to choose from.

It seems that the Brazilian Rdio is possible due to a partnership with a local telco (telecommunications operator), Oi, but the offer will not be restricted to Oi subscribers only.

Nonetheless, since Oi facilitated this deal, it is to be expected for its customers to get some additional benefits when it comes to Rdio.

All those willing to enjoy the tunes streamed by Rdio can select one of the available plans, ranging from R$9 per month for the desktop-only plan to R$15 for the multi-device plan.

It remains to be seem whether Rdio will manage to attract enough paying subscribers to become generate serious income, especially since they have not announced the availability of any free of charge plan.

If the Brazilian market will indeed prove to be profitable, one should not be surprised if other music streaming services follow their example and launch in this country as well.
