A new gaming peripheral has been released, one that isn't as embellished as, say, the Cougar 700M that came out the other day.

Instead of a modular, segmented or otherwise unusual design, the new peripheral from Razer puts more emphasis on performance and ease of use.

That's why it has an ambidextrous design, and why an 8,200 dpi 4G laser sensor (can be programmed to work on any surface) was used in its creation. “It” is called Razer Taipan, by the way.

Colored white, the mouse has a bright white light shining from the scroll wheel and beneath the logo (Razer pretty much always etches it in the spot where your palm rests on the mouse).

There are nine programmable Hyperesponse buttons available too, which you can set up as shortcuts and in macros.

Also, both Windows PCs and Apple mac systems are supported, though you'll have to use the Razer Synapse online configurator software to set up some things.

Finally, the Razer Taipan mouse boasts 1,000 Hz ultrapolling, 200 inches / 50 m per second acceleration (50g) and a weight of 95g/0.21lb. The exact size is 124 mm x 63 mm x 36mm / 4.88 x 2.48 x 1.42 inches. All for the price of $79.99 / €79.99.
