Razer, one of the leading manufacturers of gaming and lifestyle computer peripherals, has just announced a new partnership with Raptr, a social platform that enables gaming users to know in real time what are the games that their friends are playing. The new partnership is expected to enable Razer to better communicate with its fan base, also allowing its users to easily join the Raptr community and create bonds and relationships with fellow game players.

“Razer’s products have traditionally been created and marketed for hardcore gamers and with this new partnership, Raptr is providing us with the best way to build a deeper connection with our existing gamers as well as reach new gamers in a consumer-friendly and innovative way,” said Razer president Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff. “We feel incredible synergy with Raptr, specifically in our goal to continuously engage new gamers and introduce them to the very best gaming products and services available.”

Razer is known for its high-end gaming products, which are designed to provide an enthusiast player with the necessary hardware tools that can help him enrich his gaming experience. The collaboration between Razer and Raptr will basically enable the gaming peripheral company to strengthen the bond with its fan base and allow them to benefit from the social platform created by Raptr.

Gaming users connected to the Raptr platform can automatically inform their friends what games they are playing, broadcasting the information via some of the Internet's most popular social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.

“With this partnership both companies are embarking on an exciting new growth opportunity. By making Raptr accessible through Razer’s products we’re able to reach additional gamers who may not yet be members of Raptr,” said Dennis Fong, CEO of Raptr.

With the announcement of the new collaboration, the two companies also said that they planned to hold contests giving Raptr users a chance to show off their Razer gaming gear. Raptr will be bundled with the Razer DeathAdder mouse, the Razer Lachesis mouse, and the Razer Lycosa keyboard, while more products will be added over the upcoming months.
