The notebooks will be made available to a select few, but you could still win one

Razer, a company mostly known for its high-end gaming devices, has announced it will be jumping onboard with a Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg, in an atypical partnership that will produce a series of not-for-sale limited edition Razer Blade laptops with a dash of Koenigsegg sprinkled upon it.

If gaming notebooks and cars seems something that shouldn't normally be mixed, the two companies says the alliance was formed due to the common preoccupation for perfecting engineering performance.

Koenigsegg Automotive AB CEO Christian von Koenigsegg explains in his own words “Every single detail of a Koenigsegg car is measured against our continuing goal to enhance vehicle performance.”

“This is reflected in everything we do. Nothing is insignificant. We find our doppelganger in Razer - a company inspired beyond conventional reason to design products for extreme functionality and fun.”

What exactly are we going to see come out of this partnership is pretty elusive at the moment. The duo now says it plans to inaugurate their new alliance, by launching not-for-sale Blade laptops.

If the laptops aren't going to be for sale, that means that only a few lucky Koenigsegg owners and Razer fans would be able to get their hands on the devices, which actually makes things feel a little bit elitist.

Razer claims it will manage to insert advanced hardware into the ultra-thin chassis of the Blade laptops, which, by the way, is CNC machined and has the Koenigsegg brand logo stamped on it, for everybody to see.

“As far as I’m concerned, Koenigsegg is the archetype by which all design innovation may be measured universally – a company hell bent on combining beauty, performance and sheer power.”

“Our shared obsession with extreme performance makes working with the crew an exiciting project and an honor.”

We’re not given details about anything else. For example, is the partnership limited to just external cues, or would we end up seeing something more being implemented in the laptop, perhaps an Koenigsegg-branded software of some sort or maybe a game featuring cars from the company’s line?

The Razer Blade currently comes boasting a 14-inch screen with a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels and is receiving power from an Intel Haswell i7 processor with integrated HD Graphics 6400 and fitted with GeForce GTX 765M GPU and 8GB of RAM plus 128GB hard-drive.

There’s no information if the Koenigsegg-branded version will respect the above specifications, but this will probably be the case. Anyway Razer will offer enthusiasts the chance to win one of the laptops, if you’re willing to follow them on Twitter and like them on Facebook.
