Razer is already infamous for all of its gaming peripherals and accessories, so it wasn't that big a surprise to hear that it is ready to unleash yet another set of products intended for extra enjoyment.

When it comes to hardcore gamers, if there is anything clear is that they have more than just the standard PC components ready and waiting to be put to use.

For most consumers, an unassuming (design-wise) desktop, monitor, keyboard and mouse are enough for whatever they may decide to do on their systems.

Hardcore gamers and enthusiasts, however, make it a point to own such things as sophisticated keyboards, mice with myriads of buttons (especially for MMO gaming), mouse pads, etc.

The Goliathus mouse mats (pads) from Razer are this very sort of product that only this sort of customers will have any special inclination towards.

They are redesigned versions of the original Goliathus and are called Alpha, Omega, Standard and Extended. In tune with the name, the maximum available size is quite large (920 x 294 x 3 mm).

They each have a different size and possess an anti-fraying stitched frame (for extra durability), a rubber base (prevents it form slipping on the desk) and a textured weave, for extra mouse sensibility.

“The only thing wearing down should be your enemy,” said Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, President Razer USA.

“The Razer Goliathus is our pride and joy when it comes to soft mats, designed with professional gaming-validated weaves for an exceptional mouse swiping experience. Now with anti-fray edges, you can go forth and frag even harder, worry-free.”

This particular web page has all the information currently available on the four newcomers, complete with the prices of $14.99, $19.99, $24.99 and $34.99, respectively. Shipments should start to be carried out this month (May, 2011), if they haven't already.
