Need a razor sharp gaming tablet in your life so you can take your game-playing everywhere you go this holiday season? Microsoft has your back. Even if the company’s 12 days of deals is still under way, it doesn't mean Redmond can’t diversify the offer and throw in a few discounted extra products.

So for a limited time, customers purchasing the Razer Edge Touchscreen Gaming Tablet will be able to do so for the price of $999 / €726, instead of the original $1,299 / €944.

Let’s face it, this powerful device doesn't come cheap, but with a hefty $300 / €218 discount it will be easier to purchase it. On top of that, customers acquiring this device will be awarded a $25 / €18 Microsoft Store gift card.

The Razor Edge offers a lot of impressive features capable of delivering a high-quality gaming experience. The slate has a 10.1 IPS LED display with a resolution 1366 x 768 pixel resolution (granted it could have been better, especially since graphics are a big part of game playing).

Under the hood lies an Intel Core i7-3517U processor clocked at 1.9GHz (that can be increased to 3.00GHz via Intel Turbo Boost Technology) from the Haswell family coupled with 8GB of RAM.

On top of that, the Razor Edge packs NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE with 2GB DDR3 graphics memory and Intel HD Graphics 4000 with shared graphics memory. The slate also has a 2MP frontal camera, USB 3.0, a docking station/power port (used for accessories – game controller, docking station, keyboard dock, available separately) and 802.11 b/g/n.

Audio experience is enhanced via the Dolby Home Theatre v4. A downside of this gaming tablet is that its lithium-polymer battery can last up to only 4 hours.

That’s a meager life span, especially since you consider the fact that tablets like Lenovo’s Yoga boast a life cycle of up to 18 hours. But since the product will be mostly used for gaming, the skimpy battery life probably makes sense.
