Slash! Destroy! Kill your enemies! Doing all these things has never been easier, as the people from Razer, one of the world's best known manufacturers of gaming mice, have just announced the Razer Diamondback 3G, a device that incorporates the latest (and most advanced) infrared sensor technology, dubbed 3G.

The Razer 3G sensor is currently considered to be the most advanced infrared sensor ever developed (at least according to the manufacturer's statement). First
incorporated in Razer's DeathAdder model, the 3G sensor is the highest performing mousing sensor as found in ESReality's MouseScore 2007, the world's first independent mouse benchmark test. Moreover, the 3G has an 1800 dpi resolution, which can be adjusted depending on the user's needs.

However, the new Razer Diamondback 3G provides a lot more interesting features beside its sensor. Thus, since it's completely coated in a stylish black rubberized finish, the Razer Diamondback 3G features a more tactile feel, allowing for quicker responses and a firmer grip over the entire mouse. It also sports zero-acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet, as well as a gold-plated USB connector at the end of a 2-meter non-tangle cord.

Moreover, the mouse provides extended control options (seven independently programmable Hyperesponse buttons, scroll wheel with 24 individual click positions), as well as a very high tracking speed (up to 60 inches per second and 15g of acceleration) and resolution (6400 frames per second, 5.8 megapixels per second).

"For the avid gamer, the difference between winning and losing can often depend on the mouse," said Robert "Razerguy" Krakoff, president of Razer. "The Diamondback has been the core competitive mouse for a generation of gamers and its speed, precision and smoothness have now been improved. These are the critical factors that optimize the players' performance and create the ultimate gaming experience."

The Razer Diamondback 3G will retail for $59.99 USD, but, for the time being, it's only available for pre-order on the Razer website.
