Nintendo has released a brand new snazzy video from the upcoming Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire video games, showcasing some of the features of the title and revealing, for the first time, the abilities of the legendary Groudon and Kyogre.

Nintendo has announced that Rayquaza, a powerful critter that also happens to be a fan-favorite, is joining the cast of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. The mysterious Dragon and Flying type Pokemon's origin is said to be related to the secret of Mega Evolution.

Rayquaza is said to descend to the planet surface whenever Groudon and Kyogre clash, and players can see him in action in the new video, before getting their hands on the Pokemon in November.

Groudon and Kyogre

The legendary Pokemon can undergo two unique transformations, Primal Reversion, and each of them obtains an ability that is solely their own, conferring them intensified power.

Primal Groudon gains the Desolate Land ability, enabling him to change weather conditions to scorching sun, making attacks such as Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm and Hail fail, and all Water-based abilities fizzle and fail to activate.

In addition to this, Groudon can unleash an area of effect attack dubbed Precipice Blades, an upward surge of sharp rocks that can affect multiple targets.

Primal Kyogre can cast Primordial Sea, an exclusive ability that similarly affects the weather to a heavy, unrelenting rain. Opponents cannot change the weather condition, and the Sand Stream, Snow Warning, Drought and Drizzle abilities are rendered useless, as are any and all Fire-based attacks.

Kyogre's unique assault, titled Origin Pulse, allows him to slam multiple opponents with water massed into ballistic orbs.

Team fights

Team Magma and Team Aqua are shown battling with Mega-Evolved Pokemon. Maxie, leader of the Team Magma group, seeks an ideal world for humankind to reside in, looking to increase the landmass of the planet so humans can inhabit and exploit a wider area, without concern for the well-being of the Pokemon.

Team Aqua, led by Archie, undergoes an effort to increase the size of the planet's oceans, in order to restore the habitats that the Pokemon lost to mankind's greed. The group believes oceans to be the fountain of all life, and is convinced that Pokemon and man can coexist in harmony.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire are headed exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming device, scheduled to drop on November 21 in Japan, Australasia and North America, and on November 28 in Europe.
