Ubisoft is adamant that its upcoming Rayman Legends puzzle platformer is going to sell a lot of Nintendo Wii U consoles, even if it's also going to appear at the same time for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Rayman Legends was supposed to be one of the Wii U's killer launch apps, but Ubisoft decided to delay it once into January and then a second time into September of this year, when it appears for the Wii U, as intended, but also for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Even if the exclusivity is gone, Ubisoft France's Xavier Poix has told GamesIndustry that Rayman Legends will still make lots of gamers buy the Wii U.

"Selling a new way of playing can take some time, and we know the power of the brands from Nintendo and we know from the fans that the majority of what will be the system sellers are not yet available. And on our side, Rayman will be one of them for sure. We really expect Rayman to be a huge system seller on the console."

Rayman Legends is the followup to the very successful Rayman Origins, which appeared on a wide array of platforms.
