There is a huge scandal brewing in Hollywood these days as a great number of female celebrities have just found themselves hacked by some yet unidentified individual out to seriously damage the image of many big names, the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Victoria Justice, Kirsten Dunst and Ariana Grande.

A representative for Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that the photos are real and that they have been stolen from her iCloud account. The leaks come from a 4Chan user who claims to have a lot more material and not just from Lawrence but from other big-name actresses as well.

Some of the Lawrence photos are selfies, others are taken by another person. The photos were taken at various times and there seem to be wide intervals of time between them. The locations vary as well, as some of them are taken in dressing rooms, while others are taken in the bedroom, and TMZ claims that they are of a more “intimate nature.”

Some shots feature the actress in a bathing suit, most of them show her without any clothes on, and it's precisely those that tabloids want to get their hands on.

While this leaked photos debacle is being sorted out, Jennifer Lawrence's camp is threatening with legal action anyone who publishes the material. “This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,” the reps say.

To add fire to the fire, the hacker has boasted that he has numerous videos as well and offers to release them to the media for the right sum of money. But don't get your hopes up just yet. Some of the female celebrities involved in the hacking scandal are calling the photos fake.

Victoria Justice was the first one to dismiss the leaks, saying, “These so called [photos] of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*” She was later joined by Ariana Grande, who had her representative come out to say that the leaked material was “completely fake.”

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who is also a target in the scandal, confirmed that the photos were real when she said that “To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves. Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked.”
