The Ratchet & Clank franchise from Insomniac Games will be turned into an actual feature-length animated movie in 2015, as the studio has just confirmed the news and released a special teaser trailer.

Insomniac's Ratchet & Clank series has been around for quite some time, with great titles being released for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, and even for the PS Vita in the near future.

Now, the studio has confirmed that the series is finally making a transition onto the silver screen thanks to a feature-length Ratchet & Clank animated movie that will be released in 2015.

The film is set to be made by Blockade and Rainmaker Entertainment and, most importantly, Insomniac is playing a key role in its production, screenplay, and animation.

T.J. Fixman, the writer of all the recent Ratchet & Clank games, will also pen the script for the movie, so you can bet that the same feel will be retained.

Until the movie's production begins, check out a hilarious teaser trailer starring Ratchet, Clank, and Captain Quark above.
