Sony, Insomniac Games, and Idol Minds have revealed some more details about their upcoming Ratchet & Clank HD Collection, confirming a release date for the pack in North America, as well as the fact that it’s going to include a special demo for the upcoming Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time game.
The
Ratchet & Clank series have amazed millions of gamers not just on the PlayStation 2 many years ago but also on the PlayStation 3, on which it received quite a few impressive releases.
In order to give new fans of the series a taste of the classic titles, Sony, together with the franchise’s original developer, Insomniac Games, have teamed up with Idol Minds to remaster in high definition Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal.
After already releasing the pack in Europe and Japan, the companies have now confirmed that North American PS3 owners would get to buy it on August 28, for just $29.99 (around €24).
In case you forgot, the three games have all be remastered in HD and include all sorts of new features, like support for 3D or trophies, not to mention a fully functional multiplayer mode for Up Your Arsenal.
“The Collection features 1080p HD remasters of three PS2 Ratchet & Clank classics: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. In addition, these three games have Trophy and 3D support (in 720p), and the fine folks over at Idol Minds have restored online play to Up Your Arsenal. At last, those who missed out on competitive R&C gameplay during the PS2 Network Adapter era can finally check it out,” the companies said.
What’s more, in order to make up for the rather lengthy wait, Sony has also confirmed that a special demo for the upcoming Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time game is bundled with the franchise.
Of course, Sly Cooper fans shouldn’t worry about this exclusivity, as the demo will be released after a certain period on the PSN.
