Insomniac Games is continuing the celebration of the 10th anniversary of its Ratchet & Clank series and has announced that a whole new game, in the form of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be out this fall in North America, as well as in Europe, where it will be renamed Ratchet & Clank: QForce.

Insomniac Games gave birth to quite a lot of franchises in the last few years, but by far the most interesting and long-running one is Ratchet & Clank, which started off as a PlayStation 2 game in 2002.

Now, besides releasing the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection later this year, the studio has also announced a completely new one, in the form of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, as it’s called in North America, and QForce, as it’s titled in Europe.

“We’ve also heard a lot of community requests to develop a new Ratchet & Clank game, one that returns to the classic third-person Ratchet & Clank camera. We listened to your requests, and this holiday season Insomniac will release our new Ratchet & Clank game as part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration,” Insomniac CEO Ted Price said.

“I’d like to officially announce that Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will be coming soon to a PS3 near you.”

According to Price, Full Frontal Assault will be released as a downloadable experience in North America and Europe, but also on a Blu-ray disc only in the old continent.

“We’ve returned to the series’ classic feel, camera, controls and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play. Even better, the addition of online features means you can experience Full Frontal Assault with your friends, so stay tuned,” Price added.

The game will come out this fall exclusively for the PlayStation 3 platform.
