Late last week, we saw that the Raspberry Pi Model A, which had only been available in Europe until that point, was up for order in Asia. Now we can say it has reached the US, though that isn't quite accurate.

That is to say, while the $25 / 19.56-25 Euro device did ship through Allied Electronics, it is no longer available because it sold out.

It is noteworthy that the sellout happened even though Allied Electronics did not offer pre-orders or backorders.

From what we can gather, there were just a few over 50 Raspberry Pi Model A boards in stock.

Given that there was no limit on how many one person could order at a time, we aren't actually surprised this happened.

Go here to see what the specifications of the product are, and how it compares to the Model B. Anyone who doesn't want to wait for Allied Electronics to get a new supply can make international orders through eBay from a German provider.
