The feat was achieved in late October and it didn't even take two years

Raspberry Pi is an astonishingly popular miniature system, which was supposed to only help students understand the basics of programming. However, because it can turn any TV into a smart TV, its popularity skyrocketed and is higher than ever now.

Just a short time ago, the Raspberry Pi foundation announced the sale of the two millionth Raspberry Pi.

It happened in the last week of October... which was just two-three weeks after production reached one million in the UK.

Well, the actual 1 millionth sale happened in January, and there were 1.75 million in October. That's because some batches of the Pi were made in the middle east though, before all of it moved to the UK.

Thus, instead of taking until January 2014, Raspberry Pi reached 2 million sales three months sooner.

Whoever bought a Raspberry Pi between October 24 and October 31 might own the milestone model, so to speak.

Many people use the Pi for custom lighting, various combo boards, robots, experiments of all sorts, pretty much anything home tech project really. Now we just have to wonder how long it will be until the third million.

Update November 19, 2013: Fixed the timeline.
