Timothy Blair, a ‘90s rapper better known as Tim Dog, reportedly died in February this year, of a seizure following a lengthy battle with diabetes. Esther Pilgrim, whom he was supposed to pay restitution in the thousands of dollars, believes he’s still alive and that he faked his own death to get out of debt.

An arrest warrant was issued in Blair’s name, after prosecutor Steven Jubera proved to a judge that all reports saying he died in February are actually dead ends: there is no death certificate, no record of a funeral and absolutely nothing to back up the theory of his passing.

Moreover, a good friend of the supposedly deceased rapper tells WREG that he refused to go to the funeral because Blair’s family could not show him the death certificate.

Esther Pilgrim “met” Blair on an online dating platform and entered a romantic relationship with him on the spot.

In due time, he convinced her that he needed money to restart his music career, this way stiffing her out of her savings, estimated at $32,000 (€24,779).

A couple of years ago, a judge found Blair guilty of larceny and ordered him to pay Pilgrim back. All the payments stopped when he “died” – and he still owes her $19,000 (€14,712) in restitution.

Jubera tells WREG that both he and Pilgrim are convinced the rapper is still alive, having merely staged his own death to get out of debt and, at the same time, probably escape other women he might have stolen from.

“I need proof. I need a death certificate showing that’s he’s dead because as far as I’m concerned, he’s alive,” Jubera says.

“Nobody said where he died, nobody said where he was buried, which is very odd for an obituary,” he adds. Moreover, many of the online media outlets reporting his passing in February have long removed the stories from their website.

Jubera is convinced that, if Blair is alive, he will be found.

“At the bare minimum he would get arrested and sit in jail until his court hearing,” he adds.
