One of the arguments that Iggy Azalea has been using in her defense, whenever she’s attacked for being a poser and a faux rapper, is that she always wrote her own music. Of course, that didn’t stop rumors that she was using a ghostwriter from emerging online.

Until not long ago, it was assumed that T.I., her mentor, record label boss and good friend, was ghost-writing her songs for her, so she could have a bit more credibility in the industry. A rapper named Skeme is now claiming he wrote her 2014 monster hit “Fancy.”

Writing on “Fancy” is credited to Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX, who sings on the chorus. So if what Skeme is saying is true, Iggy’s reputation has just taken another hit.

The revelation came at the recent SXSW festival, when Skeme talked about his career as a rapper and his side-career as a ghostwriter. He wouldn’t initially say who he’d been writing songs for, or what those songs were, but he was eventually made to confirm that he’d written the part that Iggy took credit for.

Talk on this starts at the 2:27 mark in the video below. The second video is the clean version of “Fancy,” in case you’re one of the few people on this planet to not have heard it yet. *Please note that some discretion is recommended with the first video, as it contains mature language that might offend.
