One of the most promising young and up-and-coming rappers on the scene, Lil Snupe, from Louisiana, was shot and killed the other day. Snupe had just turned 18, Global Grind reports.

The same media outlet notes that the shooting probably represented the escalation of a conflict over a dice game gone bad.

“The hip-hop community took another bad L earlier today, when news came out that Lil Snupe was shot and killed, reportedly over a $100 [€75.5] dice game,” the e-zine writes.

“Before he was killed, Snupe had started making a name for himself, most famously as one of Meek Mill’s artists,” adds the same media outlet.

News of Snupe’s passing has been confirmed on social media both by his representative and Meek Mill himself.

Reports elsewhere in the media note that police are looking for an unidentified “person of interest” but are yet to get a suspect into custody.
