According to 'Variety' magazine, Hollywood will see again the rapper that impressed everybody with his performance in the semi-autobiographical, universally acclaimed '8 Mile', in 2002.
Eminem was looking for a new project ever since he recovered from his addiction to sleeping pills and sudden death of best friend, Proof, and he was very enthusiastic when he heard about the project of the remake of the '50s Western drama. The TV show 'Have Gun - Will Travel' was a big hit in the USA and it was aired between 1957 and 1963, depicting the life of a well-bread and literate bounty hunter.
The story will be adapted to modern times, so probably there will be no scenes with the famous shoot-out from in front of the tavern, at sunset or dawn. High hopes are that it will be set in Em's beloved city of Detroit.
The movie will be produced by Interscope/Shady/Aftermath Films, with Paramount Pictures and Marshal Mathers's manager, Paul Rosenberg. The production is not yet completely scheduled, but rumor has it that things will soon be sped up. If Eminem doesn't get the part, he will surely get the contract for its soundtrack.
