The newcomer is part of the Blade Series and is very slim

Touchpads, or trackpads as they are otherwise known, aren't really common outside laptops, but some might still appreciate having one nearby if a mouse is unavailable, or even prefer it over a mouse, so Rapoo made a keyboard with one built in.

The new product is called Blade Series E2700 and has an integrated touch pad located where the numpad would normally be.

A scissor key structure was used, to provide heightened accuracy, reliability and “the perfect key stroke results every time,” according to the company.

Rapoo says the newcomer is meant to “enhance productivity and performance right from the comfort of your couch.”

Optical and laser mice don't really have a problem working on fabric, so that “advantage” might not be all that game-changing.

Then again, reaching out to use the mouse whenever you want to move the cursor slightly, or scroll down a page, isn't exactly the best feeling either.

It's all about convenience, granted, but convenience can really affect your enjoyment of your work and, thus, your productivity.

Anyway, the E2700 has 80 keys, including 13 hotkeys (volume, mute, forward/back, etc.). Also, it ships with a nano USB receiver.

Which is our cue to finally mention the other perk of the Blade Series E2700 keyboard: it is a wireless peripheral device.

Featuring 2.4 GHz technology with a 360-degree range, it can maintain a stable and flowing link with your PC from a distance of up to 33 feet, or 10 meters, although walls and furniture will affect that max distance.

When you want to go somewhere and want to take the keyboard along, but not your PC, you can store the receiver into the dedicated compartment at the back of it.

All in all, the Rapoo Blade Series E2700 weighs 186 grams / 0.41 pounds, measures 5.6 mm / 0.22 inches, and has a price of $49.99 / €36.47.
