Country singer Randy Travis remains in critical condition at a hospital in Texas, his rep tells TMZ. Hours ago, he suffered a stroke and went into surgery immediately, with doctors hoping to relieve pressure on his brain.

Oddly enough, just shortly before that, doctors were saying that he was showing signs of improvement.

As I also noted the other day, Travis had undergone heart surgery after he was rushed to the hospital with heart issues, a condition known as viral cardiomyopathy, which led to congestive heart failure.

The same media outlet writes that doctors put in a “tiny pump” in the singer’s heart to “assist in stabilizing his heart,” which seemed to be returning positive results for a while.

His family is said to be “frantic” with worry, while fans from all over the world are praying for him.
