ASUS has outed new BIOS versions developed for two of its motherboard series, namely version 4502 and 4601 targeted at some of the devices included in the P9X79 and Rampage IV board series, respectively.

Specifically speaking, BIOS version 4502 is compatible only with ASUS’ P9X79, P9X79 Deluxe, P9X79 LE, and P9X79 PRO products, while the 4601 BIOS package can be installed on the Rampage IV GENE and Rampage IV Formula motherboards.

If applied, the newly released packages will revise the BIOS help string, and will also improve compatibility with some USB devices.

Therefore, if these changes specifically resolve some problems that you have been encountering, then consider updating the board’s BIOS version to the latest one. Otherwise, applying it will be just a risk that you can avoid taking.

Moreover, before initiating the update, make sure you have saved the current configuration so nothing gets lost in the process, and also ensure that the computer is connected to a stable power environment because an update crash might seriously damage your board.

That being said, download BIOS 4502 for ASUS P9X79 series or download BIOS 4601 for ASUS Rampage IV boards, depending on which device you own, and take into account the above-mentioned aspects so that no problems will be encountered.
