Composer of Plants vs. Zombies, To The Moon and World of Warcraft Laura Shigihara has decided to branch out on her own and introduce players to “Rakuen,” a story-base adventure game.

Shigihara along with another former EA employee, Emmy Toyonaga, have been working on the game for a year now, handling the programming, design, audio and in-game pixel character art.

The game is described by its main creator as a mix between Maniac Mansion, To The Moon and the non-combat elements from The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past.

Players will be able to play a little Boy that has been living in a hospital for quite a while and now becomes bored. Therefore, he asks his mother to accompany him on a journey to the fantasy world from his favorite storybook.

The more you play, the more you will be able to help the main character discover more about himself as well as the hospital's patients, that seem to be linked in some strange way.

Shigihara is hoping to release Rakuen in 2014 and is also thinking about expanding to other platforms in the future.
