Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 just got released and it is already one of the bestsellers on the market. It actually jumped on the top spot as the bestselling game after its first week on sale and this week it felt to second, behind Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, with 50% lower sales. Still, according to Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has already passed the 2 million sales point, exceeding all the expectations and putting the profit up by EUR 45 million.

"As expected, 2008 is off to be a record year for the videogame market and our games have performed remarkably well in this context," said Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft. "Assassin's Creed and our Games For Everyone brands continued their strong performance and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 had a better than expected start."

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the last chance for gamers to rescue America's sexiest city from an escalating terrorist siege. The tactical shooter game is a sequel to the award winning Rainbow Six Vegas, a title that received numerous awards, including 2006's Best First Person Shooter and Best Online Game.

The game features more Vegas than ever, offering a chilling and breathtaking experience - part of it because of the new and improved AI. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 also takes full advantage of 11 new weapons, new camouflage, clothing and gear that allow users unprecedented customizable experience. Also, the game represents the next step towards co-op play, everybody being able to jump at any time in the multiplayer co-op mode, instantly changing the single player experience, without affecting the game's story.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the sixth iteration of the multimillion-selling Rainbow Six tactical shooter franchise and follow-up to the highly successful and award-winning Rainbow Six Vegas and, judging from the data published by Ubisoft, it will still bring a few more million copies sold to the franchise.
