The game might get some changes to its narrative structure

Video game publisher Ubisoft announces that its long delayed Rainbow Six: Patriots is still in active development, even though the team has not offered news on it for some time.

Alain Corre, an executive director, tells IGN that “It’s an important franchise for Ubisoft. We want to make sure, on this one, like all the other games we’re working on, that we bring it when we feel it’s perfect.”

When it was first announced, Rainbow Six: Patriots was supposed to deal with a new domestic terrorist threat, with players leading a team as it tried to find the source of the attacks and eliminate it.

In many ways, the idea sounds very similar to the core narrative of the recently launched Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Traditionally, the Rainbow Six series has used tactical gameplay that punished players who failed to accurately plan their moves.

More information might be offered towards the end of 2013.
