Indie studio Lionbite has just announced its upcoming game Rain of Reflections. The game will be launched on PC in 2016 and is being built in the Unity 5 game engine.

According to the Swedish developer, additional platforms are considered for a later release, so console gamers should not yet despair.

Moving on to the game, Rain of Reflections is a cyberpunk noir RPG that tells the story of three main characters, two of which are female.

Just like most of cyberpunk games, players will immerse in a futuristic, dystopian world, where the ambience and mood are just as important as the graphics, perhaps even more. The player is encouraged to explore the world in which the story is set, learning about it and its characters.

Developers also promise that the game will not offer any clichés when it comes to exploring, so don't expect any audio-logs or trails of notes.

Multiple choices and consequences will provide players with unique experiences

Moreover, Lionbite Games claims they want “to break RPG conventions by avoiding typical genre mechanics to focus on the very essence.” What does this mean? Well, according to developers, players should feel that they advance into the game more naturally, without any fillers, repetitive battles or boring grinding.

The battle system in Rain of Reflections is made so it deeply connects to the story and is focused on a unique morale mechanic, which should allow players to use environments, ruse tactics, threats and smart conversation choices to handle confrontations in various ways.

Each choice players make should have a consequence, but to what level it remains to be seen. In the words of the game’s leading characters: “This is my story. This is your story. This is our story. To the very end.”

As mentioned earlier, the game is set for release in 2016, but an exact launch date is expected to be announced later this year.
