Rails Live CD is based on PCLinuxOS, which is a great Linux distribution for creating LiveCDs.
Rails Live CD allows you to have a fully operating Ruby on Rails development environment without even touching your hard drive.

So, if you want to develop Ruby on Rails applications in Linux but you don't have the skills or the patience to do the installation and compiling required to get Ruby on Rails running on a typical Linux installation, than Rails Live CD is for you.

Rails Live CD allows you to install directly to your hard drive and walks you through the process. No compiling or ./configure ./make ./make install is required.

This version of Rails Live CD offers most of what an average Rails developer needs right out of the box:

■ Ruby 1.8.4
■ Rails 1.1.2
■ Capistrano 1.1.0
■ Mongrel 0.3.13
■ Rake 0.7.1
■ Subversion
■ MySQL 4.1.12
■ MySQL Administrator
■ RadRails
■ KDevelop
...and much more software.
