The package was forwarded to the University by mistake

On Saturday, I wrote about this conspicuous looking package that arrived at the University of Chicago, addressed to none other than fictional character Indiana Jones.

The package was addressed to Jones and contained the diary of professor Abner Ravenwood, a character that appeared in The Raiders of the Lost Ark, as an expert on the Ark of the Covenant. In my previous article, you can actually get a glimpse at one of the pages in the diary.

Sorry to disappoint you , and I can assure you I was disappointed myself, but the package is not even a practical joke, it's just a replica made in Guam.

It appears that the manufacturer, a man named Paul, according to BetaBeat, makes Indiana Jones memorabilia and sends them on eBay.

He intended to send it to Italy; however, it fell from its envelope and post office workers, who noted that the University was listed on the interior package, just forwarded it there.

“Our address had originally been put on the manila wrapping of the journal just for cosmetic effect. We believe that the post office wrote on our Zip code on the outside of the package and, believing the Egyptian postage was real, sent it our way,” a spokesman for UC explains.
