Noting that Apple's iPhone was the best platform for Raging Thunder's control scheme, developer Polarbit introduced its racing title to the jailbroken iPhone community in May, this year. After months of hard work, the title has been approved by Apple, and is available now on the App Store awaiting to be downloaded on your handset.

Raging Thunder's official (iTunes) description goes,

The developers of Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart are proud to present Raging Thunder, a gut-churning, tire burning racer giving you control over the most extreme muscle cars in the world! Race against time, CPU controlled opponents or up to three other speed addicts in this fast paced and exhilarating coin-op style racing game featuring the most breathtaking 3D graphics on the iPhone yet.

If you liked Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart, Asphalt 4: Elite Racing or GTS World Racing you’ll LOVE Raging Thunder, so strap yourself in and prepare for the most hardcore racing experience of your life!

In an interview with TUAW back in May, Anders Nilsson of Polarbit assured fans that the Raging Thunder iPhone port was "coming along nicely" and that they were "busy with a redesign of the menu system," which looked a tad outdated. In the interview, Nilson also hinted that Raging Thunder would sport multiplayer capabilities. Which it does now, according to the iTunes description. Great 3D graphics, boost, draft and tackling physics, as well as customizable controls round up the features list.

For targeted platforms other than Apple's iPhone, Nilsson and his team are planning to release their arcade-ish racer on all "major high-end mobile” systems under Symbian, Windows Mobile, Brew, etc. Not all ports will support features like accelerometer, touch-screen and 3D acceleration, since not all handsets sport them, but the developer said they had been supporting these control systems and gameplay elements "since well before the iPhone was announced."

Raging Thunder costs $7.99. You may download the game onto your 2.0 (or later) iPhone / iPod touch from the iTunes App Store, here.
