After quite a lot of anticipation and build up, Rage, the new role playing hybrid between the shooter and racing genres from id Software and Bethesda has received its official PC system requirements and the general verdict is that they're quite decent, especially since it runs on the studio's new id Tech 5 engine.

Rage has been in development for quite some time and, so far, each time we've seen the title we were extremely impressed with the work the developers at id Software are doing and how their new technologies are pushing the performance of video games forward, just like it did with earlier titles like Doom or Quake.

Now, with Rage rapidly approaching its release date at the beginning of October, the studio, together with the game's publisher, Bethesda, have presented the minimum and recommended system requirements, via Kotaku, for the PC platform.

The list of specifications your computer needs to match in order to run Rage can be viewed below.

Minimum: OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD Memory: 2GB Hard Disk Space: 25GB Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200 Recommended: OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or Equivalent AMD Memory: 4GB Hard Disk Space: 25GB Video Card: GeForce 9800 GTX, ATI Radeon HD 5550 As you can see, the requirements aren't that steep, especially since Rage is the first game on the id Tech 5 engine, on which the studio has worked on for quite some time. The biggest problem might be the necessary hard drive space, which is quite large, at 25GB, but manageable, except those who get digital copies of Rage might have to wait a while before the download is complete.

Rage is out on October 4 in North American and October 7 in Europe, for the PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
