Rafael Nadal powered through the Roland Garros semis, managing to keep his record straight in the French Open. After Roger Federer had booked a place in the semis a day earlier, Nadal was forced to do the same. And he did easily, benefiting from Navak Djokovic's injury in the second set.
Rafa didn't have much trouble in the opener, managing an early break. From that point on, the set couldn't have had but one winner, since the Spaniard continued serving without mistake and took it 6-4.
The second was similar, with the clay expert launching a break in the opening game of the set, Then, the two players went head to head, until, the last game, which made it official: 6-4 again.
And it probably would have looked the same in the continuing set of the quarter if it weren't for the Serbian's injury. He left the court at the beginning of the third, being unable to recover .
It was the end of the line for this year's sensation in Paris. But then again, everybody kind of knew that from the beginning. Still, he made a strong impression on the French crowd, since the whole arena praised him for minutes after he left the court. The Serbian teenager proved to be a tough competitor on the Roland Garros clay, but beating Nadal is one thing he couldn't succeed in.
The last year's winner of the French Open will try to reach his second straight final of the Roland Garros Gland Slam, where he will meet either croat Ivan Ljubicic, or French favorite Julien Benneteau. The last quarter of the day will start in a couple of minutes, and will give us the last ace in the Paris tournament.
