Since the 2003 "Hail to the Thief", everybody has been waiting impatiently for the new Radiohead material. During the last three years, almost tour-less years, they kept declaring they work in recording studios and that sometimes in 2006 the new thing will come out.
The latest news regarding the new album doesn't say too much though. There are plenty of new songs, but they are not arranged in an album format yet. And there is also no title for the moment. But the good thing is that they will go on tour anyway!
In his blog, Thom Yorke, the band's frontman, confessed being troubled about the way Radiohead is to play the new songs. This made everybody curious, of course. What could these tracks be like, so that they are able to worry Thom about the best way to sing them? How different can they be from usual Radiohead materials?
We don't know yet about this; all we know is that the dilemma has somehow been answered, and Radiohead will start their tour in June. Besides two-night stands in nine major American cities, they will also head festivals all around the world. The beginning is on June 17th, for the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. But there are more to come! The V Festival in Essex, England, or the Sziget in Budapest, Hungary are just some of the big events to feature Radiohead this summer.
The explanation for a tour-without-album might be, as Thom reports in his blog, the impossibility of working under pressure. Everybody has been waiting for a new Radiohead material, which probably led to an inspiration blockage. So it would be better for all if we just let the Brit alternative guys "do what feels right at the time".

And the random stuff they now have might turn into the "most exciting" album they offered fans up to now, Thom warns us. So… just wait and let it be!
